Our September club night was well supported with ten of us going for a ride beforehand, thirteen bikes in total and 24 members attending. This was the last of the pre meeting runs for this year as the nights draw in.

The evening ride to visit Vic was scheduled for the 20th and John Swan led us around the countryside to end up at Parkeston. With a fish and chip shop and a pub close by, and a chance to visit Vics workshop, it proved a popular event with eleven of us taking part. Thanks to Vic for his hospitality and John for a good ride. Again this will be our last evening event for this year.

I missed the ride to Bernie's caravan and the North Walsham Bike Museum because I hadnt spotted the date and agreed to be elsewhere! Again, thanks to John for leading the way, and for Bernie and his hospitality. I gather I missed a good day.

It's a good opportunity to say that we have had a record number of rides and section events this year and I would like to thank you all for supporting us, and especially those involved in leading rides. Because of the increased numbers we have had to adopt the drop off system on the rides and by in large it has worked well, getting better as we have got more used to it. It even managed to cope with a stop for fuel on the run to Parkeston!

Some 15 of our members attended the Hadleigh Clubs fund raising BBQ to help pay for their BMF subcription. Thanks to donations our sections BMF subsciption fund currently stands at about £70 so we need a bit more!

The lunch on the 29th was at the Wooden Fender in Ardleigh and we were looked after quite well apart from the technolgy failure when it came to pay. Next months lunch has been scheduled for November 3rd. We have booked the Presentation Evening Dinner at the same venue as last year, The New Times Tiptree for January 9th. Colin has negotiated a good price and George has agreed to collect the money, so start saving.

Dont forget to bring your photos to the next couple of club nights so we can decide on a winner, and to provide Kevin with some material, as he has kindly agreed to do a calendar for 2019.

The next club night is on Wednesday 3rd October. We shall be discussing a daytime ride, possibly to Duxford, (auction as well as museum) and possibly a weekend visit to Snetterton for some more bike racing, which I can thoroughly recommend. I hope to see you there.
