Another good turnout for our May club night despite several apologies for abscence including mine. Several rides were put in the diary for May, a visit to Coidfathers, always popular, courtesy of Julian and Paul, a ride to Diss and the scrapyard, with John Swann, and invite to a VMCC evening run, and thanks to Bernie, for remembering, a trip on bank Holiday Monday to support Derek at the Alma Car and bike show.

The Lunch meeting was put off until June 2nd because of the Bank holiday and is to be held in Norfolk at The Old Bell, Saham Toney, IP25 7HD. Paul was able to distribute some of the new clothing recently ordered. The visit to Codfathers was a success, but only after a very scary incident involving a couple of vans colliding in front of us. Fortunately no one from the club was hurt but never the less it did bring the issue of club insurance to the fore once more. With ten members and two guests on the ride it demonstrated how easily it is to get caught up in someone else's accident. And Chris joined us from the depths of Norfolk for the evening.

John ride to the Angel cafe and then to the scrapyard in Diss was well supported with seven of us leaving the Alma and Chris once again meeting us at the Angel. After lunch, our usual tour of the scrapyard was an interesting event as usual with a couple of first timers overwhelmed by what was on offer, even if John couldnt find a quality 17mm socket!

Our invite to a VMCC event was a first for us and seven members and one guest took part in a very interesting ride from Boreham to the Alma. It was the first time that we had been involved in the drop off system with so many bikes but I think we all coped very well. And some very interesting bikes and owners! There was a good turnout of bikes for the Alma Show and as usual the Beer was up to scratch inside. Some nice Bikes and Cars to have a look at.

We have also brought the club up to date with the latest security about the personal data we keep with the emails and the website. We have to comply just like all the big websites! Kevin and Peter have informed us that the Clare Show is now heading in another direction and that the bikes will not be asked to attend this year. Bit of a shame as I had missed the two previous ones and was loking forward to it!

I hear the trip to lunch in Norfolk is proving very popular so do let Dot know if you are coming. Rumours about tea and coffe afterwards in Chris’s new garage are way off. The next club night is Wednesday June 6th. The issue of insurance, as well as the rides and events for June will be among the subjects up for discussion so do come along and have you say. Gordon
