Our August Club Night last night was well attended after an interesting ride before hand when our attempt at using the drop off system with some 16 bikes didn't go quite as planned! Next time! With over twenty attending it was an enjoyable evening and good to see Vic up and about.

The June lunch meeting finally took place on July 7th and ten of us made it to The Ship, Tiptree. Later in July, John Swann led George and I on an interesting ride to Stradishal on roads new to both of us!

Thirteen members attended the Maldon Club BBQ and caused a bit of a problem as only three went last year! We met the Suffolk section at Manningtree, and annual evening out and 15 attended, 13 taking a lovely ride through the countryside thanks to Phil.

The Lunch meeting had a last minute change of venue and was at the Saracens Head, Newton Green.

Some of our members took part in the Pre65 scramble event at Lord Benningtons Estate and had a great time. There are two similar events locally this month, on the 5th Gosfield and 21st Maylandsea.

We had a lively discussion at the club night and have several events lined up for August, including visiting Merlin, a day trip to Lowestoft, and evening near to Stow Maries, a day trip to the Jampot Rally, (some of our section are doing the whole thing), a trip to Snetterton to watch classic bike racing, and a lunch meeting yet to be confirmed.

I am going to the Moto GP at Silverstone on the 26th. For details and timings plase look at the events page. The current Jampot has a very good article featuring some of our section about pre 65 scrambling, as well as my well prepared section notes! I hope to see some of you at these fortcoming events.
