Once again we had a good turnout for our two rides in April, the first, Mersea Myths, a trip to the excellent Fish and chip shop in Mersea, organised by Colin, it was meant to show that not everyone on Mersea Island had plenty of money, but the general opinion was that the trip did nothing to dispel the rumour! There is a video on the site for those who missed the trip.
The second, to the David Silver Honda Museum in Leiston, was equally well attended. Organised by John Swann it was an excellent day out and the museum is really worth a visit. With some 150 bikes on display starting in the fifties and up to the Fireblade a really amazing display. Lunch in the shadow of the Sizewell Power Station went down well.
We also attended the recently resurrected Inter Section Meeting, which used to be an annual event until a few years ago. This was organised by Chris Mac and Jim Lomax and ten of us left the Alma on Sunday 30th for a lovely ride to Blackmore End, where around forty bikes turned up from four other sections. The Bull was an excellent location, and they were very welcoming. Let's try to raise the profile of this event for next year and encourage visitors from further afield.
The lunch meeting in Long Melford was attended by ten members and the Cock and Bell provided excellent food and service, and has a surprisingly large car park!
Last nights May club night was well attended and as usual there was some amusement provided by the Parish notes. Six bikes took part in the first of our evening runs, taking in a bit of the glorious Suffolk and Essex countryside.
We are trying to organise the rides for this month, and as I write there is nothing confirmed but the dates will appear in the events section of this site as soon as we get them and Colin will send out e-mails as well.
Finally you will have noticed that section notes once again appeared in the Jampot magazine, this time with our logo in the heading. It was hard work getting that done! I hope to continue with the section notes so please let me have anything you might like to see included. I hope to see you on some of the rides later this month or at the lunch meeting on the 27th. We would like to thank you all for your continuing support.
