Spring seems to be in the air, albeit a wet one and the months are rolling on getting nearer to the time when we can start the pre-meeting and Weekend rides. The meeting was well attended with 23 people and we had a new, old member attend this week, Kevin Cooke has returned to the fold and we welcome his participation in the coming year. Welcome back Kevin.

As usual Bernie and Colin bought with them the Motorcycle newspaper, many thanks for continuing this service for the members. Vic Sayers was also offering up some motorcycle jackets for sale. I asked if he provides pictures, size and price I’ll put on the website to help sell them.

The proposed schedule of rides outs as received general approval from the Club members and there have also been a few suggested additions so it could be a busy two wheel year. Our first is planned for the 21st March to Clare Castle. The mention of a Castle at Clare caused some humour on the definition of a Castle, but looking at Google, it stated “Clare Castle is a high-mounted ruinous medieval castle”, which today equates to a few stones onto of a mound. However, it does have a Café where we can get Tea and Cake so all will be well – weather permitting. Details to be sent out using the usual forms of communication in the next week.

It’s a month of asking members to dig into their wallets as we have started to collect deposits for our annual Trip. This year will be a “Day at the Race” to Snetterton on the 30th May for Round 3 of the CRMC and Lansdowne Race series. https://www.crmc.co.uk/. As Online entry is £17, £2 cheaper than on the gate, we will include entry in the overall cost per person including Minibus hire.

A gentle reminder was given that next month is Club subs. Kim (our Treasurer) has done a great job of managing the accounts, so for a further year there is no requirement to increase sub cost, it again will be £12 for the year. Some have already paid, but the April meeting will be the official collection – cash or bank transfer available on request for both Subs and the “Day at the Races”.

As usual keep a check on the WhatsApp and Facebook page for any last-minute updates.
